PAKi Logistics is part of the Faber Group, a family-owned company with a history that dates all the way back to 1891. The Faber Group is a leading service provider for sustainable packaging and pooling services as part of a circular economy.
Our history
PAKi Logistics GmbH was founded in 1974 by a group of logistics experts who recognised the potential of exchangeable load carriers and have since advocated for their use in the industry. Through our involvement in the founding of the European Pallet Association (EPAL) in 1991, PAKi Logistics helped to ensure the pan-European development and reliability of the open pool for load carriers.
In 2012, PAKi was taken over by the Faber Halbertsma Group, which was renamed the Faber Group in 2021. The Faber Group is made up of multiple pooling and manufacturing companies: PAKi Logistics, IPP Logipal, PRS Return System, vPOOL and SATIM. The Dutch company can look back on more than 130 years of manufacturing history in the area of wooden load carriers of all types and, in 1993, it developed the first wooden pallet with an ISO 9001 quality certificate.
Exciting developments
The year 2012 marked the start of innovative improvements to the 1.4 plastic quarter pallet. The model was developed by PAKi Logistics, was made completely using recycled materials and allowed for simple attachment of POS displays. After the 1.4 quarter pallet, PAKi also redesigned the Düsseldorf 1.2 half pallet. Thanks to concerted efforts, these two pallets are now fully managed by the IPP pooling system. In 2015, PAKi Logistics once again demonstrated its innovative spirit when the PAKi pooling network became the first provider to offer its clients the ECON collapsible Euro container across Europe. The plastic ECON container has the same dimensions as a box pallet but is collapsible, making it much more compact.
An exciting future
Today, the number of Euro pallets alone in the open pool has increased to an astonishing 500 million. PAKi Logistics remains the European market leader in the management of standardised load carriers. Initially, our clients were mainly shipping companies; however, we now serve everyone along the supply chain, from transport companies to shipping agents, from manufacturers all the way to retailers. To make it easier for you to exchange pallets, we have established a network of thousands of PAKi pick-up and drop-off sites across Europe. More than 200 PAKi Logistics employees represent the company in 23 countries – they respond quickly to our clients’ requests in 13 languages. In the future, we will continue to take a pioneering and active role on the market and scrutinise the latest processes.
Always nearby
Our network of more than 10,000 PAKi Spots is our unique strength. We have the largest, most extensive network of loading and unloading stations that allows our clients to select the exact quantity and quality they require at their desired location.
